More of May and June 2014

My Dad has been steadily getting better and better! It has been hard to to be able to go and visit him, but I had to grow his Grand baby as he said. Laura has been keeping me updated and Daddy calls on a regular basis to check up on Katie:) He is hoping to be well enough to watch Darby walk at graduation and I know he will do all he can to be there for her big day!

We have been doing alot of swimming:) Katie is a happy little fish in her pool. We have been swimming once in our friend Wes' pool and Katie enjoyed that as well, even a night swim:) She will fit in well with the Harmon's we do enjoy the water activities :) Hopefully Violet will as well.

I love these shots of Katie in the sun. It was just too perfect!

You know just the average day at Grany's house, do a little snuggling with Sam and a little potty time with pants on your head.
It's how we Harmon's roll!

Love!

Last minute preparations before Violet comes.
It is a good thing we have Katie to supervise!

 Daddy and me!

Looking for bubbles?!

Almost A Family of Four!

The end of May brings the beginning of June and the start of a new chapter for the Harmon's. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of or sweet Violet.
Violet has thrown some curve balls our way right toward the end. I have had gallbladder trouble a few times, but have been good with my diet, and have for the most part been symptom free. I was going for a massage on the 25 of May and had a really bad attack. The next day I had really dark urine and uncontrollable itching all over with no rash. My gallbladder was causing some problems with my liver, nothing too serious. Dr. Sepesi wants me on a strict gallbladder diet and drink lots of water. If I have another gall bladder attack there possibility of Violet having to be delivered ASAP is pretty high due to the stress it puts on the liver. I am hoping to avoid that. In addition to sticking to the gall bladder diet, I am also eating grapes because the gall bladder site said they were good for the gallbladder. Here's to hopin'! The ultrasound we had to see if Violet was in good position for delivery and a good weight showed there was low fluid, but a trip to the specialist brought good news! Fluid level was great! We are a go for a VBAC! So we are officially waiting for Violet to make a move...
I have nested the past few weeks and the house is in order and ready for our new arrival. Nozt sure that we are as ready as the house is, but this will be another fun adventure.

I had a delightful Mother's Day. We took a picture by the tree we got last Mother's Day, tradition...I think this is the start of one...

Katie has taken to making things up for what we do each day. My favorite are the times where she says something completely off the wall. Jake asked her the other day what we did and her reply was "We went to see Peno and Bennett." They are our good friend's dogs that we watch when they go out of town. We did not go see them or even talk about them this day, but they were on Katie's mind.

Katie has also started potty training. She has taken to it pretty well. She has pooped and peed in the potty already and is pretty motivated my dum dum suckers right now. We sit and try a couple of times a day and she is very proud of herself. She has the feeling down, now we just have to get the timing right. Such a big girl! We are so proud of her!

We got to watch our good friends Cutler and Julia get married:) They're a great match. It was a perfect wedding and very fitting for them. We got to see our old counselor friends. It was a reunion of sorts:) Everyone I cared to see anyway! HA!

I dare say Jake is smiling! Gotta keep this one!

 Good times!

 Brett, Catherine, and LeAndra!!

Brett decided to be the photographer for the evening...
 ESP (The Good) Counselor Reunion!

LeAndra was apparently attacked by her own dress...

Catherine, Baby T, and LeAndra!!

Jake went and put his boots on to work on getting the lawnmower fixed and the grass mowed, thankfully Ninny had just recently sent some boots in some clothes she had found for Katie. Katie went and got her boots and had to have her boots on to go help Daddy. That girl loves her Daddy! And helping! Such a sweet one!
*Nothing is more frustrating than getting the lawnmower fixed only to have a belt break on the first pass through.* I am sure there were more than a few choice words said, glad Katie had come it already.
We are sure glad Jake is so handy around the house! He likes to fix things:)

It's Official! We have a 2 year old!

Even with a serious look on her face she is saying so much! This one has a big personality! Look out here she comes!

I had Anna take the above shot because when Zach and Becca got married in 2012, while we were waiting on pictures, we took the below shot of Katie. Not able to stand, using the giant chess piece to hold herself up. Time really does fly!

The ones of Katie and Sam turned out great! These two are good buddies!

The girl doesn't know how to take a bad shot! And looks fantastic in crimson!

Progress in Alabama!

How stinking cute! Seriously never get tire of watching her sleep!
All snuggled in with her baby!

March 16
Dad has been moved to Birmingham to a rehab facility. He was the most alert last weekend than he ever has been! He opened his eyes and looked at us with such clarity. He opened his eyes and smiled so big when Katie called his name. He even kicked us out at the end of the day when we got too loud, he said we were making him nervous! That's Dad! It is so good to have Dad back! I am glad they finally stopped giving him the heavy drugs so he can get his body working! The newest news this week is he is breathing on his own and they are talking about removing the trach. Dad has been using the phone to make calls this week! He is talking and so motivated to get home! The funny part is Dad said last night when I talked to him that they were taking the trach out tomorrow and he would go home this week. HA! Laura called us back and let us know that was not exactly true, those were Dad’s ideas of getting out of there. That’s my Dad! He informed us that he only remembered seeing Katie last weekend when we went down for a visit! Thanks Dad:) We love you too! He is still anxious and grumpy at times, but once he is up and moving, I think that will help him even more! His room is decorated with pictures and he is eating solid food! He has come so far so fast and I could not be happier! He is motivated by getting out in time to watching my middle sister Darby graduate high school in June and watching his 2nd Granddaughter born as well. His stubbornness and determination have definitely helped!

A few shots of our March...
I usually take pics of her sleeping, decided to switch it up a bit this time! HA!

I am amazed at her outfit choices. I really can't wait until she is a bit older and really has an opinion about what she wears on a daily basis! Feel free to quote me and use it against me later when I am frustrated by her independent ways!

 Big Sister!!!!!

Smooshie face in the Jeep!

Loving our Elmo towel!

It has been a long time since we burned! It was way overdue and so much fun! We waited until Katie went to bed before we burned the Christmas trees, we kept it rather small while she was around. Christmas trees burn so bright and large!

Love snuggle time with this girl.
She likes to watch movies and snuggle and Mama ain't complaining!

We went to the bookstore with Ruthie and she read Frozen books to Katie. Ruthie likes the bookstore and finding books for herself, but she very sweetly doesn't mind sharing the books with Katie. I ask to read to Ruth and she really wants to do her own thing, but it's ok if Katie wants to join her. Katie is so lucky to be able to grow up so loved!

Sleeping sweetness!

Hanging with Aunt Pat! Katie looked forward to her and Aunt Pat sitting on the bed together! She marches in to Granny's house and says "Let's go sit Aunt Pat" and off they go to Katie's bed to do whatever it is they do in there. I tried to join them a coupe of times and Katie asked me to go back to the living room. There will be some adjustments I am afraid when her playmate goes back. Thankfully in May Auntie will return! We will wait till May then start a count down for Katie! Until then Katie will have to sing Sho Jo Ji by herself! Please note the knee high socks Katie insisted on wearing. Quite the fashionista!

 30 Weeks!

Baby Sister is creeping up on us really quickly! We have still to finalize a name, organize her room, and paint her room...so much to do! We have made progress in her room, but it needs some more work!

Girls day to watch Frozen! This was a fun day!
I love being able to spend time with all my lovely girls!

Passed out in the feed bag! HA!

A subdued version of what we get on a daily basis. Enjoy.

March  28
Katie and I went down to Birmingham to visit Dad for his birthday. Jake had to work because it was the last day of the month. So happy to say Dad has been improving. He has had a few set backs, but we knew that could happen. He is now sitting up on his own. Trying to keep him from being discouraged is hard, he wants to just get up and walk and his body needs to adjust to being mobile again and Dad is not a patient person. He wants to be walking yesterday and home a month ago. Thankfully there is talk of him going home in a few weeks. Dad needs to continue getting stronger, but he is currently spending all day off the vent and they put him back on it at night to allow him to rest and help with the sleeping issue. He was in good spirits while we were there. Laura and the kids, minus Blane who had to work as well were there! We just take over the room and let Katie entertain PePaw. She is the best medicine! She got to read a book with PePaw and sang for him.I know once Dad gets home he will make leaps in his progress. Being away from everyone is hard on him.
