We have had a very busy few weeks! We are still not sure where the gestational diabetes situation lies, at the last appt, 3 weeks ago, Dr. Lowman was going to make an apt to do further testing, an apt still has not been made, so I am going to go with hopefully that means it is nothing to worry about. Jake and I go tomorrow for another check up, so we will see.
Katie is making her presence known every day these days, she kicks and moves my belly around to make herself more comfortable in the ever shrinking space. She and her Daddy played high five the other day! Katie was kicking and Jake put his hand on my belly and she gave him a big kick and he tapped my belly right after and she kicked again! They did this several times, each time she waited to feel him tap and then she’d kick! Too awesome!
I am still feeling very good! I am getting a bit more tired, especially at the end of the day, I am trying to remember to take it easy and just grow a person, as Jake says. I am still doing massage 4 days a week, seeing my girls 2 days a week, and I plan to keep working as long as I can or until the belly gets in the way. Heartburn is back to being an issue, so Tums are back to being my BFF. I can’t reach my toes anymore and even though Jake has very sweetly offered to paint them for me, my friend Catherine and I are going to get pedicures this week. I am looking forward to it. I am used to doing my own toes, so I am going to practice relinquishing control over to the pros.
The Jones family has been buying their Granddaughter clothes they have found at different places and Katie ended up with three boxes of clothes for Christmas! AND her very first Alabama teddy bear!
The Jones and Harmon grandparents went in together and got us our amazing stroller, which Jake and Sam promptly used their Man Skills to put together. Granny has also started making blankets and hats for Miss Katie that we can’t wait to see! Granny also had the family antique cradle redone:)

Heather passed down her crib so we have a place for our little one to lay her sweet head, eventually:). Hunter was nice enough to pass down some of his toys that he no longer played with. So, as usual we came back from AL/FL with the truck loaded down:)
We have been to classes about breastfeeding, baby care basics (Jake’s comment: I don’t want to brag, but I feel like I got this, I can change diapers, swaddle, put clothes on a baby, and give her a bath!) He is very right! There were some Dad’s who were really struggling! We graduated from our 4 night baby class at Athens Regional as well. According to them we are now qualified to give birth and take care of a baby! Yikes!
We have been rearranging and moving things around to make things fit in the house, I guess it is the nesting kicking in. Jake has been doing much of the work!
Just realized we need to line up a pediatrician, gonna get on that tomorrow.
