Settling in at home

Feb 2012 A few days after arriving home we seemed to be getting the hang of breastfeeding and we had a few more visitors. Sam kept a very watchful eye on all who came to visit Katie. He would sit right beside them as though to remind them that he was not going to let them out of the door with his baby. He was so good with all the visitors and changes to the house.  We also had a visit from Bah and Charles. Katie had her fist tub bath in her very cute Pooh bath tub.

The only concern we have is a pain in my belly. It is constant and seems to be getting worse...After a few days the pain in my belly was unbearable and we decided it best to go to the Dr. After a few agonizing days and tests later it is found that I have an infection in my abdomen and antibiotics are the course of action. We learned the hard way that Cat Scans and breastfeeding don’t mix; thankfully Jake’s Mom was here to help me keep the hormones from completely getting the best of me. Because of the pain, it is impossible for me to lie down in the bed, so we all have been sleeping on the couch. It is the best way for me to be able to feed Katie at night with minimal pain and without disturbing Jake too much, so he can go to work. He is great about making sure we have everything we need, pillows, water for me, and are situated before he goes back to sleep. I really don’t know what I would do without his help as we figure out what we are doing with this sweet little baby girl!

Finally home!!

I think you can trust Bah Sam, relax bud!
