30 Weeks

So according to the Baby Journal we have, Little Katie Elouise will be here in less than 60 days, roughly! Yikes! When you see that number in print it doesn’t seem like very long at all! I still feel like we have so much to do to get ready and “prepared”. We have started baby classes and have learned a few new things. Mostly it is information we both already know. We are both lucky that we have experience with kids thanks to family and keeping the kids in nursery at church, and ESP, but some info is new and gross.
I took the test to see if I had gestational diabetes a few weeks ago and it came back “elevated” so I took the 3 hour test, it came back normal. I went on Tuesday of this week for a check up and was told that my glucose level was elevated again…ugg, back and forth…Dr. thinks if I do have it, it could possibly be diet controlled and insulin may not be necessary.
I still have had no cravings or major mood swings…YET.
Katie is kickin pretty constantly these days, except for when her Daddy puts his hand on my belly. I keep telling him that means that he will be able to soothe her when she is upset. I think it frustrates Jake a little, but I know she’ll be a Daddy’s girl!
I apparently have no real concept of how big my belly is, I grazed my belly with the car door the day and still think I can fit in between a person and the counter at work and end up bumping on of the girls with my belly. Maybe I'll get used to it soon?

Busy November

November has been very busy! We cleaned out Katie's room, removed most of our stuff and got it ready for all of her stuff :) We have started painting her a small table, an Alabama table, we can't have Katie thinking that the only colors are red and black! I'll post a picture of that when it's all done.
This past weekend we proudly watched our nephew Zach graduate from Basic Training
he's now on to Jump School...he couldn't be happier!

The ladies at DRee and Company threw me a shower! Here is what Miss Katie got...

  Ruffles on the booty!

How cute is the lady bug! I cant wait for Katie to see it!

Crocheted blanket! Perfect for February!

Monogrammed Brush and Comb, I got really excited seeing her initials!!

Gonna need lot's of these!!

My belly is growing bigger and bigger every day! I can really feel her through out the day now, and especially around 9:30 at night when I get still, she really starts moving! I have been able to see my belly move several times, she is getting stronger and stronger every day!
Our church has moved to a temporary location and we have to set up for Sunday morning and the tear down on Sunday and do it all again the next Sunday, it is really hard for me not to move things and push things around, I am used to doing things not watching people do things. Don't worry, I think Jake had a meeting with everyone on staff and anytime I am even looking like I am going to do something, someone comes out of the woodwork and takes it from me! It has been an awesome move and I can't wait to see else what God has in store for Compass!

Harmon's at 25 Weeks

Head to toe, Katie is now about 13 1/2 inches long. She weighs about a pound and a half and is the size of an eggplant. She's beginning to exchange her long and lean look for some baby fat , so she looking more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair and if we could see it, we could tell what color it is. (Dark and curly perhaps?)
Jake was able to feel her kick the other day!! It made him quite happy! I think we both are excited about these next few months because Jake can become more involved by being able to feel and see what Katie is doing in my belly.

I am getting to the point where it is getting difficult to tie my shoes and take off my boots. Thankfully my loving husband has been helping me with that, as well as reminding me what I can and can NOT lift!
We registered at Target, Babies R Us, and Wal-Mart the other day. We must have spent 4 hours in Babies R Us trying out strollers, folding and unfolding each one. I had notes on which ones had the best reviews and we tested them out pretty thoroughly. So much CUTE Winnie the Pooh stuff!! SO much cute girly stuff! YAY!
They had a tester infant carrier and Jake tried to figure out how to put it on...
...we were not successful. Hopefully the one we get will come with instructions? It's all part of the fun!

We went to Tallulah Gorge with Sam on Saturday before the Alabama/LSU game and walked around the edge of the gorge. We have walked all the way around before and had plans to do that on Saturday. Katie had other ideas, half way around was more than enough! It wore us all out! I fell asleep during the Bama game and Sam slept for two days after, he just went from one of his beds to the other. Jake seemed to fair the best out of all of us:)

The trees have started changing and it was so beautiful! Awesome family day!

Looky at all Katie's Loot!

I got a surprise day off work today so Jake, Katie, Sam, and I spent it at several yard sales in the area. We found a swing to keep at Granny's, an extra car seat for Granny, an excersaucer, THE EXACT bedding I was wanting from Babies R US, (Granny is going to sew some curtains and a diaper holder to match!) several cute outfits, and the whole day spent together (Jake says this was his favorite part)!
We only spent $100 for everything! BTW The bedding set alone is $179, we lucked up for sure!

This one say my heart belongs to Daddy:) It's just hard to see.
Such an awesome day!

Katie Elouise Makes Her Debut

She is 19 Weeks this week and is growing and forming as she should the Dr. said! We LOVED the thumbs up! I am healthy as well. It was so amazing to be able to see her move inside me! It was very different from the last pictures we saw! She moved the whole entire time we were getting the ultrasound, except for when we got to the time we needed to see "the goods" and she sat real still! Let's hope she keeps her Daddy's cooperative attitude:)
We have SO much to do before she arrives! Oh my goodness! Can't wait to see her sweet face in person!

We told Sam that his baby sister Katie was coming soon and he ran to his window... don't think he knows where babies come from yet!

Little Harmon Meets Rhett Akins!

We went with our good friends Kevin, Danielle, and Hayden Cheek to see Rhett Akins this weekend! I have always loved his music and this Saturday he moved higher on my list! There was a young man with Down Syndrome at the concert who made his way up to the front of the stage, his family motioned to Rhett if he could join him on stage, Rhett knodded yes. So, for about 10 minutes the Rhett Akins concert was completely taken over! The young man took the mike from Rhett and yelled to the crowd, made a few announcements about the GA Bulldogs, and told everyone how much he loved Rhett Akins! Rhett sang a few songs and they sang together some too! It was AWESOME!! The crowd was yelling back and being so supportive and amazing!
I am not sure what made me more excited and happy to be at the concert: seeing Rhett be amazing to this young man or when we waited after the concert to meet him! Both made my night for sure!

Guacamole Anyone?

Yay! Another week down! Still haven't had any odd cravings for anything...I do LOVE Barq's Rootbeer though! Man that stuff is GOOD!
Our little guy is the size of an avacodo now, about 4 1/2 inches long and weighs in at 3 1/2 oz.
His legs are much more developed, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position too. He's even started growing toenails. There's a lot happening inside as well, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day. Something I read recently that is kinda gross and weird...right now the baby is pooping and then breathing it! You are welcome!
Jake is being really helpful and involved! Tomorrow we are going looking at baby stuff together! Winnie the Pooh strollers, Alabama onsies, and swings here we come!
April at 16 Weeks:) Not much of a belly yet, but here is what we are workin with right now!

Another Dr. Visit

Went to the Dr. yesterday, Little Harmon is growing strong. heartbeat was in the 140's, and all my levels are in the normal range. Also, I am 14 weeks not 13 weeks like I thought... Kid's not even here yet and I can't keep up with him! We get to find out what we are having on Sept. 27! Can't get here fast enough!

At 14 Weeks our Little One is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth. He is 3.4 in and 1.5 oz and about the size of a lemon. (so says the internet)

These are the first ultrasound pics from several weeks back. We still have about 6 more weeks to wait for more pictures!
